IRREVOCABLE COVENANT:  REBUKED, BUT NOT FORSAKEN    6/10/08

HEARD:  Generational bridge.  Deliverer.  Michael.  Must keep her.

Rom 11:25-32 NKJV

For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins."   Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience, even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy. For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all.

PIX: I saw a large bunch of salt being poured out.

Mark 9:49-50 NKJV

"For everyone will be seasoned with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt.  Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another."

HEARD:  It’s irrevocable.  Bear.  Follow Me.

PIX:  I saw the back end of the great white bear walking ahead of me.

The great white bear is the fear of the Lord.  I have seen Him many times.  He is very fierce and very nurturing.  I have had seasons where I am running from Him. Other times I am cuddling with Him and buried in His soft fur with great comfort.   Others I have been walking side by side with Him.  I was saddened to see this picture as it was a rebuke.  I remembered seeing the past visions of intimacy with Him, but instead in this vision His back was turned to me and I was to obey and follow.  He had just rebuked me for a few days with demonic dreams and visions, and the demonic door finally closed and I had been delivered.

WORD TO PONDER:  REBUKED, BUT NOT FORSAKEN    6/10/08

I built a bridge of intercession to span generations and that bridge will carry many to their destiny.  My covenant with you is irrevocable.  I have mixed your salt with My own, dear ones, they can not be separated.  Through the fire and through the sacrifice, I have not forsaken you.  I know it has been very painful, but I have taught you how to fear Me.

In the fullness of time I AM turning towards Jacob, My own.  I AM sending My deliverer to hold back the demonic hordes.  Much of this demonic infiltration is from your wrong choices.  But My covenant is irrevocable and nothing shall defeat My Word on your behalf.  Yes I rebuke My sons, but I will never forsake you nor abandon you.  Beloved turn from the fire of wrong choices, and return to My table.  Come sit with Me.  You are forgiven, beloved child.

Rev 3:15-21 NKJV

"I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.  So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.  Because you say,'I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing' — and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked —   I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.  Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.  To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

GODS FIERCE GRASP OF LOVE

[From the book Annies Visions, book 4, pg 12]
"When in prayer, the Lord took me high up into His Cloud of His glory. I saw neither angels nor any other being, only the pure glory and high wonder of Jesus Himself. So much higher is He than His heavens, that even the heaven of heavens itself is a lowly place compared to the One who is its Author, Creator and Sustainer.

There He showed me, in part, the fierce desire of His love over His loved ones. I saw it compared to the huge, hugging paws of a bear. With a strange fierceness of flaming love, these strong claws reached out and, as it were, seized hold upon the loved one, drawing him inexorably unto Him.

These strong, claw-like golden instruments of tremendous size had two sharp edges, which would enclose the one whom He loved and had chosen for Himself. They seemed to seize hold of only a certain part of that person, the part which He wanted for Himself, sheering off the other part in a process that most deeply wounded the object of His love, and taking His portion away for Himself alone. With unimagined intensity He would seize hold upon that one to devour him with a tremendous appetite and with a violence and desperation that utterly amazed me.

The work of these very sharp claws was a demonstration of His love in operation, for His love for His own is exceedingly great, and His zeal and jealousy are flaming desires that only divine nature can know. This revelation of His love was not frightening to me; to the contrary, it seemed wonderfully desirable to be so loved and drawn into God Himself."

THE RESPONSIBILITY OF AN IRREVOCABLE COVENANT

8/2/01

Hi Loved Ones,

In recent weeks, I have been perceiving that many are questioning whether or not they have somehow messed up so badly that they have disqualified themselves from either the Lord’s blessings, callings, gifts or ministry. Consider the following scripture as I go on to talk about the covenant of salt. "For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable." (Rom 11:29-30 NKJV)

IT TAKES TWO TO AGREE

It is said that people used to carry pouches of salt and when they made a promise to one another, they would take a pinch of salt from their bags and place it in the other’s bag. The symbol being that is was impossible to retrieve or take back one’s own salt.

When the Lord gave a promise to David that his sons would reign forever, He called it a covenant of salt. (2 Chron 13:5) The word covenant in the English dictionary means, "A binding agreement." In the Hebrew it means, "A covenant, alliance or pledge between men or between God and man." In order for a covenant to take place, there must be an agreement between two people.

Salt was also used as a preservative as well as for its antiseptic qualities. Thus the covenant of salt represented an agreement that was incorruptible, to be preserved forever.

ON GOD’S SIDE

At the moment we receive a gift or calling from Him, a part of Him enters us and we become united or blended with Him to the measure of that gift or calling. In a sense, there is an agreement that has taken place between the Giver and the receiver. This blending remains for life regardless of how badly they mess up. It remains whether they acknowledge the Source. It remains whether or not they use it for His kingdom, for themselves or for the enemy. "For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable." (Rom 11:29-30 NKJV)

"God is not a man, that he should lie. He is not a human, that he should change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?" (Num 23:19 NLT)

ON OUR SIDE

I recently attended a home group where we were each given a measure of salt. We poured our salt into one glass of water. The person stirred the salt water and shared how we each are intimately united in the Lord and how we effect one another to the point it is impossible to separate how we effect others. In essence, we become one as we pour ourselves into Him.

I watched the salt crystals swirl and finally dissolve. I was thinking about salt being a preservation and how we preserve one another with our prayers and our lives. The Lord actually wants us to be so salty that we would be the salt of the entire earth. (Matt 5:13) He wants us to preserve the earth and to make it thirsty for Him.

I had been struggling with portions of my calling as an intercessor and I thought of intercession being like salt that preserves and protects others who can not stand for themselves. When one stands in the gap over a matter, they are willing to stand in the heat of the battle and be on the front lines if the Lord should so call. It can become a real hot place and I was struggling. (Mark 9:49) As the water finished swirling and the salt disappeared, it was like a moment suspended in time. I knew I could not retrieve my salt and say, "Never mind, this intercession stuff is too hot!" (Luke 9:62)

WHEN WE MESS UP

The speaker then took a spoon full of dirt and stirred it into the water. Another person added a second spoonful of dirt and said, "And that’s gossip." The beautiful water now looked gross. Regardless of how dirty, the water is still salt water. It still remains an irrevocable covenant of salt. The Lord had my serious attention.

Again I was thinking about how impossible it is to go back on one’s gifts or calling in the Lord. If we think that time and distance (or even rest from the heat of the battle) nullifies it, we fool ourselves. And if in the fooling, we return to old carnal ways, we do nothing but make the matter worse by adding dirt to the water. And this isn’t just our own water. We are united with those we stand for, and now our dirt affects them as we see it ricochet down the line.

ACCOUNTABILITY

When David sinned by taking a census, (perhaps by impure motives or possibly independence from the Lord) his conscience smote him and the Lord sent punishment upon the people with three days of plague. "When David saw the angel, he said to the LORD, "I am the one who has sinned and done wrong! But these people are innocent--what have they done? Let your anger fall against me and my family." (2 Sam 24:17

NLT)

I have always been sobered by the fact that the Lord punished the people for David’s sin. Perhaps it is because the Lord told David He would not take away his kingdom as He did Saul. "When your days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be his Father, and he shall be My son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men. But My mercy shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before you. And your house and your kingdom shall be established forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever." (2 Sam 7:12-16 NKJV)

Perhaps it is because the scripture says, "He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes, Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm." (1 Chron 16:21-22 KJV)

I think that as a leader David understood accountability, integrity, commitment, faithfulness and was intimately acquainted with the role of a shepherd over his sheep. He spent many years as a shepherd. He understood that the condition of his sheep ultimately was his responsibility. They were under his care, and if he messed up, it showed up in the lives and health of the sheep. After all the scripture promised that the sins of the fathers would show up in their children. (Num 14:18) This method was the quickest way to gain repentance and a true heart change in one who was raised to be a leader. If not for themselves, then for those they love and care for.

The scripture says that "All these events happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us, who live at the time when this age is drawing to a close. (1 Cor 10:11) And so as we consider that our callings and our gifts are irrevocable, let us also consider that the accountability of messing up really does affect others in more ways than we even realize. And if we do mess up, we all suffer the ramifications. For those humble enough of heart to see this, it is discipline that produces the fruit of rightful living. (Heb 12:11)

DISQUALIFIED OR TRAINED?

For those who feel they have gone through a knot hole backwards and come out the other side, wanting to quit or wondering if they have lost the grace and favor of yesterday, consider that you have been in school, going through tests and training, not so that you would be disqualified, but so that you would become qualified. The Lord is not through with us yet. He is still training us so that we can and will make a difference in the lives around us. He is preparing an army that will receive an anointing and power such as the world has never known. In each level of anointing and promotion, the stakes get higher. Let us all count the cost for ourselves and the responsibility we have to others as He offers His gifts and callings. (Luke 12:48)

Lovingly,

Sandy
