WATER FINDS THE LOWEST SPOT

REVELATION: One day I was thinking about the fact that moving water flows downhill, and the course of its flow depends on where the lowest spots are located. The movement of water connects the lowest places just like a line of flowing current. This was really quickened to me as an important parable since the scriptures speak about the river of God.

Rev 22:1-2 NKJV

And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Ps 46:4-5 NKJV

There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High. God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved;

To me, this means that if you want to experience the river of God, you must lay low.

LAY LOW IN MINISTRY

As I was pondering the above, the Holy Spirit brought back to me the many times I have heard Him say, "Lay low." There are many applications to this. One of the applications is to lay low in ministry and let Him do the establishing, His way and His time:

+ Lay low and let God establish your reputation. Do not build a name for yourself. Let God bring your promotion as He sees fit.

+ Lay low and be willing to become a transparent role model; one who knows pain and suffering and is vulnerable; willing to use it for God’s glory.

+ Lay low and do not lift your own hand to make divine connections. Instead let God bring them to you. Don’t push yourself to the front in order to be in fellowship with leaders. Contrariwise, if because of your circumstances it takes more humility to approach leadership, then do so if He is knocking on your heart.

+ Lay low and wait upon His timing to share Words to the corporate body. Let it unfold as a natural set of events.

+ Lay low and silently trust Him for provision and look to Him as your Source.

+ Lay low in accepting weakness, so that He will become your strength.

+ Lay low in loving servant hood and your heart will not deceive you with greatness.

LAY LOW IN REPENTANCE

LAY LOW

For many months now, I have been hearing the Lord say, "Lay low." As a Word by itself, it could be interpreted many ways. But after such a long time of waiting upon Him and hearing and seeing this Word come to pass in many ways, I understand that to lay low is to lay on our faces before Him in humility and repentance. (Isa 57:15)

Recently, prior to the storm, I had an unusual experience. I heard the Lord speak to me Jill Austin’s name. As soon as I heard her name I had a picture vision of myself literally diving to the floor and laying prostrate before the Lord on my face. It was like I could not get there quick enough and it was almost like an urgent and desperate plunge to the floor. If you can picture what it would be like to stand in front of a bed and not fall flat onto it, but put your hands out and dive onto it… this was the urgent dive I took onto the floor. Now this picture vision startled me and I did not have the foggiest idea what it could possibly mean. I asked Him to send me understanding.

A few days later, someone sent an article written by Jill. In the article, she shared the following vision:

"A few years ago I was ministering in the nation of New Zealand and I was given an open-eyed vision that startled me, yet it has left a life-long impression upon my life. I saw an enormous fiery angel full of the glory of the Lord walking up and down the nation. He was brandishing a mighty sword that was beheading those who were standing tall in their own pride, egotism, and self glory. It was an attitude of their heart that the Lord was dealing with through this angel.

Those who were bowed low on their faces in a posture of utter humility were spared, knighted, and promoted. They were the ones God was raising up into a new place of leadership because of their meekness and humility of heart. The Lord was making a profound point about the importance of posturing ourselves in humility.

God requires and honors humility! James 4:10 (NKJV) says, "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up." If you want your life to have significance, then position yourself at the feet of Jesus…."

PROPHETIC GESTURE - BOW LOW

One time I was sitting in a meeting and feeling the Lord’s Presence very strongly. Bobby Conner started to share that he saw an angel with a sword in his hand. Just as he started to express what the angel was going to do, I felt the Holy Spirit whoosh past me and I instantly cried out and bowed at my waist, putting my head between my knees. This was an involuntary movement, inspired by the Holy Spirit. I had no idea why I did this. The very next moment, Bobby described the whoosh of the angel’s sword that was sent to cut off heads. I was overcome by His Presence and I continued bowing with my head between my knees. Bob Jones then said that the only way to escape the sword was to bow low.

WORD TO PONDER - LAY LOW IN MY RIVER

The Presence of My Spirit comes upon those who are lowly in heart. They seek Me without an agenda. They have confessed and left their sins behind. They continue to walk in the fear of their Lord, lest they be cut off and left in the dark.

Watch the flow of My river and see that it touches the lowly and downcast. Those who walk in pride, who judge others, and worse yet who judge the river of God, will miss My refreshing touch. Those who scorn the lowly as they leap into My river, I too will scorn. Confess your sins and prepare your heart to experience My river. Remember My river flows and moves, be willing to travel to get to the river then don’t hold yourself back from its flow. Jump in, dear one, jump in.

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord…
