TOO CLOSE TO THE GARBAGE

6/07/05: Today I was talking to a lady on the internet who was considering leaving her church. Although she was not actually in leadership, she became too close to certain issues among the leadership and had lost trust.

I told her she had another choice. Instead of leaving entirely, she could withdraw from the close proximity activities, and go back to attending just the services and soaking in the Lord.

At the time I shared this, the Lord reminded me of an old Word which was very quickened to me. Years before, I was in the same situation and I was asking the Lord what I should do. His answer was quite profound. I had been watching Candid Camera, and there was a convertible car that was behind a garbage dump truck. The dump truck was faulty and suddenly dumped all its garbage onto the man in the car! As I was seeking the Lord about my situation, I got a picture of that scene and He said, "You are following too close."

Tonight I went to a prayer meeting and parked the car in a different place, because last time I almost backed into the pole. This time I parked right next to the pole. Well, when I came out after the meeting my car was swarming with gnats!! Bob Jones says that gnats, mosquitoes and fruit flies are the tormentors and they represent demons. I looked at all those flies swarming the car and realized that behind the pole was the garbage can, with the lid slightly ajar. I immediately saw this as a confirming sign of the Word I had shared with the lady on the internet: "Don't park too close to the garbage."

CONFIRMATION: Our garbage disposal stopped working this week and Wayne had to buy a new one and replace it.

I believe there is a secondary Word here, saying we have faulty ways of getting rid of the (demonic) garbage. A lid is another word for covering, or protection. In these parables, the garbage truck popped its lid, the convertible car had no top (protection), the garbage can lid was ajar, and our garbage disposal was overworked and tired, and just plain stopped. I will be sending a secondary post this week on an issue I believe is awry in the body of Christ: interrogating demons.

WORD TO PONDER: COVER THE GARBAGE 6/07/05

When I call you to be a watchman, it is for the purpose of praying over matters which alarm and concern you. I expose and bring you these issues because I desire you to keep your watch by way of prayer. These issues are not for you to speak to others about, or spread gossip or division among the ranks. They are only exposed for you to cover in prayer.

Loved ones, if you are being swarmed with demonic backlash to the point you have lost your own resting place in Me, then you are following issues too closely. Take one step back, and return your focus to Me, and not man; to Me and not the demonic.

Listen and pray, watch and pray. You are sent to protect those you love, but you must also protect yourself. Cover the offense that defiles and smells. Leave it behind you. Retreat to a safe distance so that our sweet smelling intimacy with one another is not disturbed. Continue to watch and pray and serve Me well.

You shall have a place also outside the camp to which you shall go [as a comfort station]; And you shall have a paddle or shovel among your weapons, and when you sit down outside [to relieve yourself], you shall dig a hole with it and turn back and cover up what has come from you.
