BE STILL - THE STUCK SHEEP 5/23/04 

PARABLE: Tonight at the praise and worship service someone shared about a sheep being stuck. When it came time to eat, the sheep was missing. So they searched and found it had laid down beside a small tree branch. It got its leg caught under the branch and could not get up. The sun had been beat down on it and it was very weak and they knew it would die soon without water. When they tried to loosen the sheep from the branch it kicked so badly, they were forced to just let it kick itself to exhaustion before they could free it.

INTERP: Sometimes we are striving so hard to be free that we are not in a receptive place to receive God's touch. We must quiet our hearts first.

Ps 46:10 NKJV
