THE STRONG MEAT OF STANDING

HEARD: We strengthen you through protein. Muscle. We want you strong and lean.

============

HEARD: You stopped short of discerning strong meat. You need to see both sides and then cut off the wrong one.

EXAMPLES: There are many kinds of strong meat Words from the Lord... Words that He speaks to us through His quickening. Some are discipline and correction, some are tests to prove our motives, some require a great degree of interpretation and waiting upon Him for further revelation to even understand the subject matter. There is another strong meat where He trains us in warfare.

I have had many warfare visions, dreams and experiences. These were all confrontations with the demonic world. Some of these left me "feeling" slimed, condemned and defeated and some of them left me strengthened in my spirit man. Those that strengthened me taught me about His Sovereignty, His peace, humility and repentance, issues about His nature and how to use these in warfare. In other words, I knew Him more because of the warfare allowed to come. Other warfare experiences were not good gifts and the enemy's attempt to pervert the character or nature of God's Word.

If I wanted to "feed" upon these experiences, it was important to learn how to separate the difference between the two. As always is the case with strong meat, there are always two opposing interpretations to every Word…. the enemy's and the Lord's.

STRONG MEAT IN SCRIPTURE

The term "strong meat" comes from the King James translation of the following scriptures:

Heb 5:12-14 KJV

For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Here is the same section in the New Living Translation:

Heb 5:12-14 NLT

You have been Christians a long time now, and you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things a beginner must learn about the Scriptures. You are like babies who drink only milk and cannot eat solid food. And a person who is living on milk isn't very far along in the Christian life and doesn't know much about doing what is right. Solid food is for those who are mature, who have trained themselves to recognize the difference between right and wrong and then do what is right.

TO STAND

Strong Meat in the Greek means "stiff or solid." It comes from a root word meaning TO STAND. When I think of strong meat I think of the parable of jerky meat that is hard to chew. Sometimes we go through schooling that is tough to chew, especially warrior training.

NT:4731

stereos (ster-eh-os'); from NT:2476; stiff, i.e. solid, stable (literally or figuratively):

KJV - stedfast, strong, sure.

NT:2476

histemi (his'-tay-mee); a prolonged form of a primary stao (stah'-o) (of the same meaning, and used for it in certain tenses); to stand (transitively or intransitively), used in various applications (literally or figuratively):

KJV - abide, appoint, bring, continue, covenant, establish, hold up, lay, present, set (up), stanch, stand (by, forth, still, up). Compare NT:5087.

CONCLUSION

============

{Words to Ponder are summaries of His quickened Words of prophetic revelation, punched with the word of wisdom and written under inspiration.}

WORD TO PONDER: STRONG MEAT

I AM going to release more protein, - strong meat from My throne to My people. They have been nourished with mother's milk and now they are in need of stronger muscles. Sometimes strong meat is an offense to ones' expectations. It takes effort to chew meat. It takes time to digest meat. It takes time to assimilate meat before it yields strength. Strong meat can be a challenge to overcome the urge to spit it out upon the first taste, but it is necessary to grow into maturity.

One kind of strong meat is the supernatural. It will take discernment to understand and separate My Holy Words from the profaned ones of the enemy. Lean upon Me to lead you in the direction you need to go. Ask Me for wisdom and discernment to know the difference. Always listen for My heartbeat of love in all that you are exposed to. My heartbeat of love will help you find your way even if you can not hear anything else.

Another kind of strong meat is to learn to stand against demonic invasion. It is through resistance that you build muscle. It is through exercise that you develop past youth and into maturity. Flex upon flex, you grow in your authority. It is not in your own might that you stand. Nevertheless, you must learn to stand and not flinch. Flex, don't flinch, and you shall do well.

1 Thess 5:19-22 NKJV

Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.
