MODERN MARVELS FACTS:  SALT  12/01/08

INTERESTING:  Salt preserves food by dissolving and absorbing the moisture that the bacteria needs to multiply and this keeps the food from spoiling.   Salt has 14,000 uses.   Salt is used to kill poison ivy.  It is an important ingredient in glass, rubber, paint, bug spray.  

The name salary came from the Roman soldiers where they got paid partially in salt.  In ancient Greece, merchants would trade slaves for salt, giving rise to the expression that a man was not worth his salt.  At one time salt was traded ounce for ounce with gold because it was so hard to get. 

COMMENTS:  We are told by the Lord to be the salt of the earth, which means to preserve her.  If we do not, we are vulnerable to being plundered by the enemy.  We are supposed to walk upon serpents and put our foot upon the enemy.  The warning is that the enemy will walk upon us instead, if we are not the salt of the earth.

Luke 10:19-20 NKJV

Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.

"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.   14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.  16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. 

Luke 14:34-35  NKJV

"Salt is good; but if the salt has lost its flavor, how shall it be seasoned?  35 It is neither fit for the land nor for the dunghill, but men throw it out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!" 

It is highly quickened to me that one ounce of salt was at one time in our history equal to one ounce of gold.  This is a parable of kingdom currency where our sacrifices of a holy life bear weighty value for those who are tried and tested in the fire. 

Mark 9:49-50  NKJV

"For everyone will be seasoned with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt .  50 Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another."

PAST WORDS ON SALT

QUICKENED WORDS ON SALT 12/14/95: I had been thinking about salt preserving meat for the Indians & pioneers. The salt kills the bacteria. Then I remembered that too much salt in bread dough kills the yeast and will not let the bread rise. I also thought that we are preserving the earth from the wrath of God. It all connected with me and I realized that perhaps the reason He wants us salty is because our lives preserve one another and "kills" the enemy influence around us.

DREAM 12/14/95: I was typesetting a coupon. Spread across the top was a banner of popcorn salt shakers pouring out over the coupon. There were women dressed in battle fatigues doing different things among the salt shakers.

PARABLE OF SALT RETENTION:

The Dr has me on some medication designed to take out the excess salt stored in my cells. This is preventative therapy against headaches. The only way I can balance the medication is to drink plenty of water. I can clearly see the parable. If the Lord wants us salty, but we are storing that preservative (and not releasing it for others) then we develop an overbalance and it builds up in our own self and eventually causes pain.

However, in order to start releasing that salt, there needs to be a daily balance of hearing from the Lord (water) so that the person giving the salt does not become dehydrated & discouraged.

WORD TO PONDER 12/14/95 SALTY

I want you salty so that your prayers are an intercession of preservation for the guilty ones and those who are walking in unrighteous ways.

“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted?” (Matt 5:13 KJV)

IMPRESSION: I had the impression to turn to the second page of the Table of Contents. I closed my eyes and put my finger on the page, scrolling down the left side. Still with my eyes closed, I stopped my finger scroll.

HEARD: Prayer.

I opened my eyes and my finger was on the following Word PRAY! This was very special because I hadn’t read the Ponder book volume 1 since it was printed and I had no idea what was on the Table of Contents on this page.

PRAY

If you truly understood what takes place the moment you pray, then you would truly never cease. When you pray it sends the angels to go forth and make a way. Many operations take place behind the scenes to dove tail My Faithfulness in someone’s life. One of the basic foundations of such is prayer. Angels are prepared and ready. They listen, awaiting to be dispatched with assignment. Prayer looses them to fight through obstacles, frees them to go forth, prepares events, and sets things in motion.

Did you know that when you pray for others, it has eternal value? Some day when you come here, you will stand before all those you have prayed for and see how those simple requests made a difference in their lives. You will see entire destinies altered because you stopped to pray one simple prayer. Can you imagine it? If you only understood the power I have given into your hands to make a difference.

"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints." (Ephesians 6:18)

HEARD: Was He able to send it? Not yet. Triumphant. Until it comes in the pool of Bethesda. Encourage the people. Jump in.

Acts 3:19-21 NKJV

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, 20 and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, 21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.

[The Greek word restoration means to be reconstituted by adding water. This will probably come when God pours His Spirit upon all flesh.]

In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. HEARD: Salt. Lesson number one, keep it closed.

DREAM: I had an incoming tide dream where a destructive wave came in unexpectedly.

DREAM: I was telling people that sometimes we have to learn by experience, instead of being just told. Because we learn it better first hand, plus we remember it better.

UPDATE: I came down with the flu the next day and was sick for 1 week. I felt it was a rebuke for watching carnal TV the night before.

POEM: GO FORTH OH SONS OF DOVE! 1/14/07

Deep within the breast of the dove

A gentle heart beats with God’s love.

Softly cooing, deeply yearning

Always beating, ever stirring.

Humble in nature, pure and white

Are the dove ones, God’s pure delight.

Called in heaven, sent to the earth

Having waited long to be birthed.

Eyes opened, awakened from sleep

Penetrated shells cracked so deep.

Until their hearts became broken

RHEMA 10/26/08 SHIP: RESCUING THE DELIVERERS

VISION: I saw all these salt shakers floating around in the bottom of a ship that had taken in water. The shakers were bobbing and bumping. The salt shakers were made out of Myrtle wood.
