RHEMA 6/27/11  REMEMBER LOT'S WIFE

Jesus said to remember Lot's wife.  It seems that when we look back, we get stuck in old traumas. They are like beacons calling us backwards and we get stuck in time.  Sometimes when we look back, it immobilizes us... especially when we "remember" pain and old trigger points of trauma. Wayne and I have been praying that the Lord will heal all our trigger points of soul and body and spirit trauma. Fix our eyes on You, oh Lord!

Another aspect of this is learning obedience.  Lot's wife stopped to look back and this caused her to lose her life. An angel held her hand to get her out of town and told her to flee and not to look back, but she did. The other day I was watching a documentary on Sodom and Gomorrah, and was thinking about the fire and brimstone raining from the sky. So often our lives are protected only by split seconds and had she not stopped, whatever fell upon her would have missed her.

I have felt for a long time that obedience classes are a part of that training to learn to obey and not question, not hesitate, dally, and go around the barn. Our divine moments are set to be in synch with His angels and kingdom and obedience is going to be a strong part of those divine encounters.

Luke 17:31-37 NKJV

"In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back.  32 Remember Lot's wife.  33 Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.  34 I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left.  35 Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left.  36 Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left."  37 And they answered and said to Him, "Where, Lord?"  So He said to them, "Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together."

Gen 19:16-17; 24-26  NKJV

And while he lingered, the men took hold of his hand, his wife's hand, and the hands of his two daughters, the Lord being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city. 17 So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that he said, "Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed."   ... 24 Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens. 25 So He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.  26 But his wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

READER CONFIRMATION:

The cab I entered today had a sticker that said, "Dont look back, remember Lot's wife." Then I come here to find this posted on your Facebook. Being sensitive and obedient to the Spirit of God will help us avoid so many mistakes and dangers that we make. We cant claim to love Him and be disobedient. May we be focused on Him and forget the past with its glory and pains. May we be obedient to Him always in Jesus name.
