Rom 1:11-12 NKJV

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established -- that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.

1 Tim 4:14 NKJV

Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.

metadidomi (met-ad-id'-o-mee); from NT:3326 and NT:1325; to give over, i.e. share:

I believe very strongly in the scriptural practice of impartations of gifts. Timothy was admonished by Paul to use the gift of prophecy that was given to him by the laying on of hands.

I once heard an itinerant speaker say that people come up to him all the time and say, "I want your mantle, or I want what you have," or something to that nature. His response was, "Do you also want the demons that accompany this?" That shocked me, but I understood what he meant. First of all, demons can be transferred through the laying on of hands. (I always cover myself in Jesusí blood when someone lays hands on me.) Second of all, when one receives a mantle, there is a certain delegated authority that goes with it, and as a result there is a lot of warfare that comes with the package. For some, it would seem that their asking for an impartation is like asking to wear Goliahís armor when they are but little children in stature. But that is the Lordís business and He alone knows the gifts we need and the Holy Spirit is the One Who distributes the gifts. And some of these gifts do come through the direct laying on of hands. I strongly recommend receiving prayer for impartation of gifts whenever possible. I have recorded 3 here.

1 Cor 12:10 NLT

It is the one and only Holy Spirit who distributes these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.

The second time I was on a ministry team, I peeked out into the auditorium which was packed with about 1,200 people. My heart began to race and all I could see in my mindís eye were lines and lines of people in front of me! I ran back into the prayer room and grabbed Richís hand and slapped it onto my forehead. Rich was a very special person. He had been hired to pray for the company from which heíd tried to previously resign, due to the Lordís calling upon his life to pray. He is the only intercessor I know that has the worldís salary to pray! I had heard some of his stories of intercession and he had my vote for sure. So dear Rich smiled at my wide eyes and started to pray. I relaxed and received whatever the Lord wanted to give me. It lasted less than a minute and my prayer life changed from that moment on. When ministry time came, the Lord filled my mouth with prophetic prayers. People gave me all kinds of confirmation about reading their mail and I was just amazed. I knew exactly what I did NOT have before Richís prayer! Praise the Lord for the simple gift of laying on of hands!

Michele Ann Goll was bowed over at the waist with intercession for the children in Israel. She could barely get a word out through these strange contractions. Later, they had a prayer line. I had heard the Lord tell me the night before to catch the wind and I saw myself fall backward in His Presence. Falling was not a normal thing for me, but I felt that this was the Lordís way of letting me know He had something for me, so I went forward into the prayer line. Just as she came to me, my hands involuntarily shot up above my head as though I was holding a sail, and I felt His wind catch in my sail, then impact my spirit, and I drifted backward onto the ground. A catcher caught me and that was it. Other than that, I didnít experience anything, I only knew I had caught the wind like I was supposed to! I soon discovered that in the middle of the night I would wake up with these "contractions" just like Ann had on stage. I was praying in the Spirit. I never did know what I was praying about, but I did understand that these contractions that some people have are genuine manifestations of the Holy Spirit and involuntary. I experienced this at night for a brief season.

1 Kings 8:11 KJV

So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory (#3519) of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.

kabowd (kaw-bode'); rarely kabod (kaw-bode'); from OT:3513; properly, weight, but only figuratively in a good sense, splendor or copiousness: -glorious (-ly), glory, honour (-able).

The first time I knew that I had experienced His kabod, I could barely move my arms, my body, or keep my head up. It was like the heaviest type of relaxation I had ever experienced. His kabod is not a heavy oppressive kind of weight, just a deep weight of rest in the whole body. When the Lordís kabod comes and rests over a congregation, people can sit still for hours in His Presence and not even know time has passed.

I thought that was the first time I had experienced His kabod. But it turned out that He had been regularly touching me with this and I did not know it! I did not understand exactly what I had received until just recently when I heard a speaker say that sometimes the glory of the Lord sits upon you like a heavy weight. I knew that because I had experienced that during worship. But the speaker said that occasionally it will effect only someoneís legs and she mentioned several ministers this happens to. A light of understanding went on inside of me and my mind went back to the first time I experienced that. It came through an impartation.

It was the last night of a conference and Reede Graftke (Paul Cainís assistant for 18 years) came down off the stage. I had just finished praying for the last person, and had gathered my things to go out the side door. He dropped down off the stage at the same time I came from the other direction and we briefly touched shoulders. He smiled and said, "Bless you!" I was embarrassed at bumping into him and smiled sheepishly. My very next step, my left leg was dragging. It felt like I was moving concrete through water.

This had never happened to me before and I was laughing delightedly all the way to the car! I could barely walk, but since I still had one good leg, I got to the car dragging the other one behind me. I knew I had been touched by the Lord and that I had only one "inebriated" limb! I thought the Lord had a very funny sense of humor to only touch one leg. I knew exactly why He had done that. He wanted to make sure that I understood this was His supernatural touch. The rest of me was totally sober! Grandma Anna would NOT let me drive home, she took over the wheel since my left leg could not work the brake. I went to bed very happy and very touched for the rest of the night!

From that moment on, I have felt the Lordís Presence first in my legs when His glory comes into a room. Often I walk as though through deep water when this happens. I love being touched by Him in this way.
