RHEMA 11/01/08  WARNING:  A SOUND MIND

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind .  2 Tim 1:7  NKJV

SOUND MIND

sophronismos

NT:4995 sophronismos (so-fron-is-mos'); from NT:4994; discipline, i.e. selfcontrol:

KJV - sound mind.

NT:4994

NT:4994 sophronizo (so-fron-id'-zo); from NT:4998; to make of sound mind, i.e. (figuratively) to discipline or correct:

KJV - teach to be sober.

I watched an educational show on how fear affects the brain.  They did studies that revealed an interesting thing.  When someone is confronted with the emotion of fear, it first registers in one part of the brain for a brief moment.  In that part of the brain it gives the person a chance to STOP and think or briefly process what took place first.  Then after the pause, the same chemical is released to the rest of the brain that thus tells the body what to do because of the fear.  They backed up their brain studies by showing that when something alarming takes place in the animal kingdom, the animals will first freeze, process it, then run away.  Then they showed a video of a crowd when people heard gun shots, they stopped, then all ran at once.

God trains us as overcomers and gives us a chance to have self control over fear, whereby we can stop and process it first, prior to the flesh’s response to taking flight and running away.  In the spiritual world, sometimes we process what is coming to us, to stand and fight, sometimes we process it as a warning to leave.  But no matter what, God can give us His power of love and self discipline to overcome the situation without blindly and emotionally running away.

Gal 5:22-25 NKJV

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live

in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

SERIOUS WARNING UPDATE 12/20/08:  I had voiced concern and caution over a loved one’s eyes over a possible hemorrhage to that person’s eye due to high blood pressure.  A couple weeks later I got a hemorrhage in my eye due to severe coughing, which is the leading cause of such.  I had a download of revelation that we need to stop confessing fearful concern over our loved ones and change the way we speak.  I was convinced of this.

Last month I was in a discussion with another person in regards to some concern of some steep stairs.  We exchanged childhood stories about our experiences with stairs.  And then I prayed the Lord’s protection over the specific stairs we were talking about.  One week later a 5 month old baby fell down those stairs unharmed.  When it happened, the Lord brought back the entire discussion and I wondered if our concerned conversation had opened the door, or if the Lord had quickened it so that I would be spurred to pray.  The answer could possibly be both, but after my eye problem, I am convinced that we need to pray against loved ones negative confessions when they are fearfully concerned over us.   Fear opens the door to the demonic plunder.  Fear is NEGATIVE FAITH.

Prov 13:2-3  NKJV

A man shall eat well by the fruit of his mouth, But the soul of the unfaithful feeds on violence.  He who guards his mouth preserves his life, But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.

2 Tim 1:7  NKJV

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind .

1 John 4:19  NKJV

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

THE POWER OF THE TONGUE 5/11/08

WORD O’ GRAM: WHAT I SPEAK
When life presses in,
How do I respond?
Am I creating life or death in
The power of my tongue?

I point my words where I want to go.

Steer a horse by its bit.
Point a ship by its rudder.
Even so the course of my body
As spoken through my mouth,
Knows the fruit of what is sown.

Out of the abundance of my heart, I speak many words. What I say has the power to defile my temple or bless it. My words set the natural course of my body towards fiery death or abundant life. My words can set my health towards the destructive fire of the demonic. My words will justify me or condemn me. My words can bring sweetness to my soul and health to my bones. What do I want to say today?

RHEMA 11/20/08  NO FEAR

HEARD:  Balloon.  Conflict. How hard you try sweetheart.  I understand that.  Now listen.  And obey.  Where are you going?  Air lifted.  To a better place.  One without fear. Keep it simple.  No fear.

Ps 27:14  NKJV

The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear ?The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell. 3 Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear ;Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident.

One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple. 5 For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.  6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me.
