FRESH WATER IN THE DESERT

WAYNE’S DREAM: CREATING A POOL IN A DRY PLACE

Sandy and I were in a dry place that had nothing planted. It looked like white sand and we were standing in kind of a wash and could not see very far in any direction. Then suddenly this beautiful clear water started flowing up the wash towards where we were standing. I somehow knew that the place we were standing belonged to us and the water flowed right next to us and on up the wash out of sight. I did not know where it came from or where it went. It was about shin deep. It came in like a tide, because it would appear coming from our left and moving past us down the way, then start moving back up where it came from. The sun would dry it out and it would soak into the ground. I knew that it somehow came from a source that somewhere periodically welled up from the ground.

I wanted to preserve the water somehow and make a pool. I figured out a contraption that hung from a steel rod that had flaps on it that would string across this 20’ stream of water. When the water flowed, the flaps would open and let the water through. (I knew that it was very important not to put anything in the path of the water to stop its flowing). When the waters began to recede, the flaps would come down and preserve some of the water. It would not get stagnant because the flow of this tide would come and the flaps would open and allow it to move on. I thought that if we planted trees right over the water then it would keep the sun from evaporating all of the water when it receded. The trees I envisioned were full-grown evergreens. I knew that anywhere the water flowed, life would grow if it could be preserved. So I kept watch on where the flow was, since it would disappear and no one would know where to plant.

SANDY’S POSSIBLE INTERPRETATION: The water is the move of the Holy Spirit. The contraption is the tongue. As long as it moves in prayer and worship, the waters flow. When the tongue stops, it closes like a little flap over the flow. The desert like environment is a dry life without the Holy Spirit.

For I am about to do a brand-new thing. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness for my people to come home. I will create rivers for them in the desert! The wild animals in the fields will thank me, the jackals and ostriches, too, for giving them water in the wilderness. Yes, I will make springs in the desert, so that my chosen people can be refreshed.

WORD TO PONDER SPEAK IN TONGUES

I have given you a well of living water. Every time My Spirit rises up within you and you speak in tongues, the well of water rises to the surface with life. This deep well within you brings forth all that life represents; strength, health, purpose, joy, power, authority, deliverance and more. You also have the gift of your free will and full use of your tongue. It is like a flood gate that can open the channel of blessing and loose it to bring forth free and non-stagnant life. Speak in tongues as often as you can, for out of it comes the well of life.

"Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life." (John 4:14 NKJV)

"If you believe in me, come and drink! For the Scriptures declare that rivers of living water will flow out from within."
