DIVINE EXCHANGE BETWEEN PRUDENCE AND PASSION

TOUCHED BY THE YEARNINGS OF HIS SPIRIT  5/01/07

Today I have read portions of Fuchsia Pickett’s book that someone sent me.  I wept when I read of her vision of the end time power plant loosing generations of water held back in the dam, in order to bring the glory of God to earth, to bring in its harvest of souls, healings of body soul and spirit, and so that the whole earth will be filled with His glory and know Him.  I have never heard of this wonderful lady and she was repeating portions of the same dam and power plant that I have seen, with the same passion for His glory to come and bring in His harvest.  I wept from deep within me, wanting to be set free from all earthly restraints and be sent to be a part of this mighty call of His Spirit.  The Holy Spirit was calling me, wooing me, yearning for me and I felt it deeply. 

I thought of our lives and the weightiness of taking care of ourselves, our families, our homes, and all the things that go with living daily life.  My life has become very simple the last few years, extremely simple.  And yet I still felt “grounded” when everything in me wanting to fly.  It reminded me of the allegory of the kite.  A kite is able to fly higher, only if someone is on the ground holding onto the string, feeding it more and more string to reach further and further.  Without being grounded, the kite is unable to catch the wind and soar.  It is the divine wrestling match between the wind, the kite and the grounded one holding onto the string.

There is a divine tension playing out between what is practical and what it passionate.  As deeply as we yearn, we need the practical.  And as much as we need the practical, we need the passionate.   I am reminded of the rhema I received last month where He said He was marrying the practical with the spiritual.

HEARD:  Practical.  Marrying the practical with the spiritual.

PIX:  I saw a baby being lifted up.

HEARD:  Ok, now gently transition him into the next stage.  I am moving him to a new project.  Soul. You will be there to help him through these things.  Instinctive.  It’s all for good, I will walk with you.  And ENJOY it. 

To continue the allegory, our flesh is grounded in obedience to God’s Word, holding onto the strings of our faith in Him.  Our faith extends with increasing rope to release our spirit man to soar higher and higher towards heaven’s doors. 

1.  I believe that the Lord is exchanging parts and pieces of us, as He moves us towards increasing passion.  Some times when someone sells out to passion, they forget what is prudent, so in this gradual exchange, He is enabling our flesh to remain accountable as it releases the strings of faith to move our spirit man forward, higher and freer to move towards heaven’s passion of bringing His kingdom on earth.

2.  Another wonderful aspect of Him marrying His blend between the practical and spiritual, is that we are going to see and hear His Word more and more in our daily lives, as He quickens what He is saying through very clear relevance in a practical way.

3.  A third aspect of this allegory is that the wisdom of the older generation is a grounded safety measure to release the youth to soar higher and higher as they move with the passion of their destinies.  The key is to not quench the passion of youth, but to gently encourage it with grounded wisdom along the way.

Col 1:22-23 NKJV

...to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight —  if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard...
